Itinerary: Cusco-Machu Picchu
If the time you have in your hands is very short and you do not want to miss the best of Cusco, here we have a super compact trip program that will show you The Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu just at the weekend.
DAY 1: Pick up at the airport and City Tour programMorning: Our car will be waiting for you at the Cusco airport to take you to your hotel where you will have time to relax. Then you will enjoy a tasty lunch in one of Cusco´s selected restaurants. During the afternoon we will start our half day City Tour Program. It will allow us to visit the Cathedral of Cusco and the Koricancha Temple. The first one is a fine architectural colonial building full of artistic treasures inside and the latter is the former and greatest temple during the Inca times. Our next stop will be the massive stone fortress known as Sacsayhuaman. It represents one of the greatest architectural Inca achievements. Our last stop will be Qenqo where an impressive ritual rock is located. Our tour finishes with taking you back to your hotel.
<DAY 2: The Inca Citadel of Machu PicchuThis is going to be an unforgettable day for us. Early in the morning we take a car to catch the train in the direction of the town of Aguas Calientes, which is considered to be the main gate to reach Machu Picchu. During the train ride we will see the incredible fauna all around and its progressive transformation from the Andean landscape into the sub-tropical environment. At the Aguas Calientes train station one of our tourist guides will await us in order to reach the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern World. In the company of our guide we will explore every sector of this ancient citadel in order to understand what it meant for the Incas. In late afternoon we will come back to the town of Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco. After your arrival we will take you directly to your hotel.
DAY 3: Transfer to the Cusco airport depending on your respective flight time.
